Sink

Humans have used bowls for thousands of years to hold water, and it was only logical that we would eventually decided to plumb the bowl into the water and drainage system for convenience.

The washstand was one of the first designs in the 18th Century using a bowl on a table, however the water was poured from a jug, and the bowl would have to be emptied by hand.

Over the course of a few decades, the jug was replaced by hand pumps for the wealthiest of people, but it wasn`t until modern drains and plumbing that the sink was truly reinvented to be fully plumbed in.
