Snow is a common aspect of weather in the northern and southern hemispheres of Earth.

The further north and south that you travel towards the poles the more likely for snow to appear, although usually it needs the specific hemispheres winter period.

For snow to occur, the atmospheric temperature has to be at or below zero degrees celsius. Sometimes the snow can melt as it descends through the atmosphere only to refreeze again as it reaches the Earths surface. This is now what is known as sleet.
