hmm, typical I fly thousands of miles to get away from England, and 100 metres from the hotel, I find an English pub!
hey, they even sell real ale!
Do you like sweets and cakes? I do, and it seems so do the Japanese
hmm, image this times 50 and you have an idea of the size of the sweet floor of a local department store
I have never experienced anything like it, every sweet counter, selling completely different sweets and cakes!

Only problem with such a huge population! Bigger advertisments
Detour Imperial Palace
Okay, a warning, this is about all you get to see of the imperial palace, a gate!
I have been told recently, a better destination from the same train station
would have been Ginza district, on the other side of the train tracks!
Second stop Sendai
Sendai Tanabata Matsuri (Star Festival)
Second picture shows a few of the paper lanterns that are made every year. They stretch
for about 1 1/2 miles in the cover of this massive shopping street!
Okay last picture, can you believe this man is supposed to represent a star in the sky? He was
certainly a good dancer, but I prefer his counterpart, oooo, pretty lady!
Shame I didn`t get a photo of her :-(
Third stop Kyoto
hmm, the problem with having a three week holiday, I can`t remember
where this was. Somewhere near Kyoto I think. hahaha
