Cars are the most important invention in modern times. Allowing travel from one city to the next, or even one continent to another via bridges and tunnels. There are so many types available now. Convertibles, coupes, people carriers, kit cars and estates means there are cars available for virtually any family assignment and any family size.

Imagine living in the western world without your car on the driveway. The convenience of such a vehicle is lost on us. We don`t really think where we would be without it. We no longer have to work where we live and we rarely have to holiday in the same area either.

Cars themselves are technologically remarkable. They pull the inventions of great men together and bind them into a metal structure with comfortable surroundings. The wheel, cogs, engines, electricity are just a few of the areas necessary to create a modern car but with just one of these missing the car is not possible. The developments in new technology has also allowed the common family car to be a safe place to be. Airbags, seatbelts and even safety glass has made driving usually a very safe bubble to wrap ourselves in.

Technology is again shifting where cars sit in modern life. The aspirations to move cars away from fossil fuels to hybrid and fully electric vehicles means that we are trying to be eco-friendly as well. There is no doubt that eventually there will be no need for oil to power our vehicles but it will still be necessary to make all the plastics that go into them but at least they will be recyclable in the future.
